After a 22 year career in banking I moved from the island of Dominica (Nature Isle of the Caribbean) to Phoenix, AZ in 2007 to pursue a degree in Elementary and Special Education at the Grand Canyon University.  Living in Arizona I realized that there was a clear need for additional support for some members of the community, so I also became certified to teach English Language Learners.

 

Since 2013, I’ve taught students in both the general education and special education classrooms ranging from K – 8th Grade. I am passionate about teaching and strive for high achievement in all my students.

I believe that all students can learn, they just need the right support, care and guidance. As a result, I’ve been providing all students with an individualized educational experience. I do this by integrating the educational experience unique to my home country with the most recent evidence-based teaching and learning methods.

A child’s success in education depends heavily on parents’ relationship with their educator, their ability to trust and depend on the instructor for motivation, and making the content accessible and exciting.  I will work with you to develop a customized learning plan for your child.
